A bicyclist was killed today about 2 p.m. in a crash with a city sanitation truck at 93 Avenue N and Second Street, police said. The victim is Jim Ramage, 50, of 151 92nd Ave N.

Ramage's wife and daughter, who live a few blocks from the scene, inquired about what happened and police took them back home to fetch a picture of him. They used the picture to confirm the identity of the body, said St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Department spokesman Lt. Joel Granata.

The driver of the truck is Diane Vietch. Though she is not suspended, Vietch will not be driving until an internal review is completed, according to the sanitation department.
